Appointed as Principal Contractor by Workman LLP, Restore London successfully completed the extensive external refurbishment of this prominent Grade II listed building on the corner of Albemarle Street and Piccadilly. Built in 1887, the ornate terracotta façade, long unsealed and exposed, had suffered significant weathering. Over the 14-month programme, our skilled team carried out over 3,000 specialist terracotta repairs and replacements, working in accordance with Historic England guidelines to preserve as much of the original fabric as possible. Only the most deteriorated units were replaced, with careful conservation repairs made to the remainder, ensuring the building retained its listed status. The entire terracotta envelope was then meticulously doff cleaned, enhancing both protection and appearance.
