Fishmongers’ Hall

Fishmongers Hall is both a listed monument & Grade II listed building adjacent to London Bridge. It is the Headquarters of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, one of the livery companies of the City of London. Restore London designed a self-supporting access scaffold with drilled ties to the stone façade to provide access to execute all the restoration works specified.

The building is situated on a busy through road on London’s Embankment and, after meticulously recorded and controlled exemplar samples were carried, the façade was cleaned using nebulous sprays and Super-heated steam cleaning. The Portland and granite entablature was repaired and repointed where necessary, new anti-vermin wires installed, and window repairs and decorations carried out.

The project was finished off with specialist graining to both sets of doors and some gilding to the gates to the delight of the client. The whole job was completed on time, under budget and to the Clients satisfaction.
