Southampton Row

This conversion to a decadent 5* Hotel with its Grade II listed façade in the heart of London gave the Restore London team the opportunity to excel. Works included the cleaning, repairing, & modifying of the former Baptist Church House on Southampton Row, where the Baptist Missionary Society had relocated in 1903. Our works included the cleaning & restoration of the ornate external Portland stonework & modifications at ground floor level. We also successfully undertook the careful removal of elements within the original chapel: walls, floors, ceiling, radiators, lay light, roof light, & pews. Internally, we undertook the full cleaning and restoration package of the 52 no. Grade II listed stone fireplaces & the York stone staircase. All works are part of the overall design by the Flamboyant French designer Jacques Garcia, resulting in a highly luxurious boutique Hotel, with its past splendour restored to it’s former glory by Restore London Limited.

“It was a pleasure working with the Restore London team. They showed good team spirit coupled by a highly pro-active approach to problem solving & were able to resource the project during unforeseen circumstances, such as the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Stephen Crampton

““Restore London made our specified repairs so that they are almost invisible when viewing the room as a whole but are sufficiently different that an educated viewer could see where the mosaic had experienced areas of change when looking in detail. Perfect!” ”
